April 30, 2009 at 11:40 A.M. Joe Coniglio was convicted of corruption and graft, thanks to the efforts of Mr. Christie and the feds. Others in New Jersey are awaiting indictment. How are you, Senator Bob? Ms. Milgram has sought to create a distraction for the Democrat Machine by going after Republicans in Morris County. I do not think that this tactic will be successful.
New Jersey is associated, deservedly, with the feces of government criminality throughout the nation and beyond. ("New Jersey's Feces-Covered Supreme Court" and "Law and Ethics in the Soprano State.")
March 23, 2009 at 6:24 P.M. New Jersey government hackers are preventing me from posting images or accessing my MSN group. However, I will continue to try to regain access and to write. I cannot say whether someone in Trenton is finally reaching out to me. Please do not pretend to be a friend. Have the decency to be honest about what you are doing and for whom you are acting if you try to contact me as a New Jersey lawyer. I will continue to struggle for that face-to-face meeting until someone shows up. I wonder if they'll send one of the baby lawyers. ("New Jersey's Political and Judicial Whores" and "New Jersey's Legal System is a Whore House.")
Ms. Milgram's actions on the corruption front are too little and too late. She will be remembered as another tainted and questionable or corrupt public official, protecting persons sharing her sexual-orientation (Debbie, Diana, Nydia?), complicit in the crimes and cover-ups of the Democrat machine. Milgram is yet another disgrace for New Jersey's legal system. Maybe she'll go to work for Bernie Madoff when she leaves the Attorney General's job, which I hope will be soon. I hear some attorneys who claimed to be my friends are experiencing "trust account problems." I have a feeling some more lawyers are going down soon. Hudson County seems to be hanging on my every word. Good luck Jose? Ramon? Edgar?
AP News Break: Another New Jersey Lawmaker Facing Corruption Charges.
By ANGELA DELLI SANTI Associated Press Writer
March 11, 2009
TRENTON, N.J. - A Democratic leader in the New Jersey Assembly has been charged with public corruption for allegedly abusing his former position as Perth Amboy's mayor by using city money for personal expenses such as his son's basketball camps and refreshments served after his father's funeral. Prosecutors also accuse Joseph Vas of rigging a lottery so his driver would win.
[How much was the driver kicking back?]
In an 11-count indictment, Vas, 54, is charged with conspiracy, official misconduct, bid-rigging and records tampering. Attorney General Anne Milgram announced the charges at a news conference Wednesday.
"Joseph Vas took an oath as mayor to honestly and faithfully serve his city, but instead he shamelessly exploited his position for personal gain," Milgram said.
Vas has not been arrested. His lawyer, Alan Zegas, said Vas will plead not guilty.
"We will vigorously contest the charges," Zegas said. Milgram said Vas is accused of billing $5,000 in personal expenses to the city of Perth Amboy, including $289 for refreshments served after his father's funeral and $1,450 in basketball camp fees for his son.
[Vas "went against" Albio and Menendez in the Congressional race. This may explain why he was targeted. Where are the $300 MILLION, Jaynee? Why don't you care about that, Anne?]
"This is over $1,400 in city taxpayer money that was spent so that Vas's son could learn to play basketball courtesy of the residents of Perth Amboy, many of whom can't afford to send their own kids to basketball camp," Milgram said.
Prosecutors also say Vas rigged a public housing lottery in favor of his personal driver. According to the charges, Vas arranged for an index card with his driver's name to be selected in what was supposed to be a random drawing among 40 participants, entitling the driver to buy low-income housing through a first-time buyers program.
["Does Senator Menendez Have Mafia Friends?" and "Senator Bob, the Babe, and the Big Bucks." How much did you make on the Prisco payoff, Stuart? This Vas matter is peanuts. Let's get real about the Jersey Shuffle.]
"The driver, Anthony S. Jones, 48, of Perth Amboy, also was indicted. It wasn't immediately known if Jones had retained a lawyer, according to a lawyer who said he represents him [who?] in another matter."
"Vas was mayor of Perth Amboy, in Middlesex County, for 18 years, ending last year. He [Who?] remains on the town's planning board and redevelopment agency. He's [Who?] been a member of the state Assembly since 2004, where he [Who he?] has sponsored 22 ethics bills on corruption, campaign finance and election reform."
"Sen. Joseph Vitale and Assemblyman John Wisniewski, the two Democratic lawmakers who represent the 19th legislative district along with Vas, issued a joint [What?] statement Wednesday. 'Any time that a public official is involved in even an allegation of official misconduct, it puts a strain on the public trust,' the statement said."
[They are still laughing at that statement in Trenton where over 200 officials and their friends were convicted by Chris Christie with half of Ms. Milgram's staff.]
"Ironically, because of legislation Vas supported, four of the counts carry mandatory minimum sentences of five years in prison without parole. Gov. Jon S. Corzine signed the legislation into law in March 2007 to enhance the punishment for government officials who are convicted of abusing their offices."
[By allowing for state action to censor critics of political policies or officials?]
"Milgram said her office has significantly stepped up its political corruption cases, with 64 in 2008, a 21 percent increase over the prior year. "
[Irony?]
"Defendants included former Newark Mayor Sharpe James, prosecuted jointly [again?] with federal authorities; [This was news to the feds!] former Orange Mayor Mims Hackett, sentenced to five years in state prison; former Irvington Mayor Alfred Steele, sentenced to 15 months; and former Assemblyman Neil Cohen, whose child pornography case is pending." [Pending?]
[Milgram likes to jump on the bandwagon after the feds indict someone to make it look like she is doing something. I believe that Ms. Milgram or her office have conspired to violate my civil rights by suppressing speech and invading my privacy as well as through deliberate denials of materials properly belonging to me in violation of state and federal laws. Milgram should be disbarred. Quotations are regularly altered in this essay and other vandalism must be expected from Ms. Milgram, perhaps, or her so-called "friends."]
"Mr. Corzine was on a television program recently explaining that 'everything is fine in New Jersey.' ..." That accident on the Turnpike may have affected Corzine's brain. Thank God, Corzine is out of office. A word was removed from a sentence in this paragraph. What else is new?
